BitingBird: do you still plan to work on this?

#5 Updated by BitingBird about 3 years ago

Maybe, but anyone willing to take it can do so (idem for the others, I won't answer on each)

  • Subject changed from Document that most computers won't boot from SDCard to FAQ: Document that most computers won't boot from SDCard

The installation assistant does not mention SD cards. We currently don't really advertise this option in favour of the USB stick option which is the most widely used.

  • Priority changed from Normal to Low

No news from BitingBird since 8 months -> unassigning

Lowering priority for the above mentioned reasons.

  • Subject changed from FAQ: Document that most computers won't boot from SDCard to FAQ: Document that some computers can boot from Tails on SDCards too

As said before it could be nice to mention in the known issues or FAQ that some computers are actually able to boot Tails from SD cards: HP Compac 615, ThinkPad X series, Tablet Toshiba (which one?)

Do we still want to do that, tech writers?

IMO this could be nice somewhere for power users to know, but not in the regular installation instructions.
