Description

We should provide translators using Git with a git/config file that will prevent them to commit trailing whitespaces.. :) Or find another solution to convey such a practice to them.

History

#1 Updated by u about 1 year ago

I have ~/.gitconfig:

[core]
    editor = vim
[merge]
    ff = false
    tool = colordiff
[user]
    email = user@example.com
    name = Tails Amnesia
[push]
    default = simple
[color]
    ui = true
[color "diff"]
    whitespace = red reverse
[apply]
    whitespace = error
[alias]
    lol = log --decorate --oneline --graph --all
    loll = log --decorate --graph --oneline
    st = status -s
    co = checkout
    ci = commit -pevm
    br = branch
    merff = merge --ff
    puff = pull --ff
    samend = commit --amend --no-edit
    whatsnew = fetch --dry-run

While the alias part is not necessary, it's kinda cool.

  • Status changed from Confirmed to In Progress

I committed a line that would raise an error on whitespace issues in bdd58ca066.
We could think about sending an email about this to translators as a next step.

I added one line to our translation doc, and I think this is enough. Closing.
